Bursaries / Proposals

Please click here to submit Bursaries / Proposals
General Information:

This form serves as your expression of interest to participate in the Conference as (a) a bursary applicant; (b) a discussant, session lead, rapporteur or presenter; or (c) someone intending to engage in the discourses on the Conference.
  • You have to be a paid-up member of IDEAS to compete for the bursary. Only one submission is allowed per IDEAS member.
  • Please note that sponsors of bursaries often require that such awards can only be made to persons from developing countries and/or transition economies. Developed country applicants are rarely covered by such awards.
  • Non-members of IDEAS who intend to fund their own participation in the Conference may complete a submission
    (a) if they wish their perspectives reflected in the Conference website and post-conference publications;
    (b) offer to write papers, lead sessions, serve as discussants for Conference sessions and workshops.
  • Please complete all the sections of this proposal form by typing the relevant details into the spaces provided. The boxes will expand with your text where required. No hand-written submissions will be accepted.
  • Tick the relevant boxes by marking with an X.
  • Please return the completed form by email (preferably) as an attachment to Conference Coordinator prabeen@Ideasconference.org  or fax to the following number in India: 91-11-124-510 2075.
  • Proposals may be submitted in English or French. If you prefer to submit your proposal in French, please include a short abstract of your paper or proposal in English as well

Evaluation and Selection of Bursary Winners:

  • A bursary selection panel has been established to review all submission for bursaries as well as those for presentations and workshops.
  • Since the bursaries are limited, only outstanding submissions will be short-listed. Those at the top of the short-list will be awarded the first bursaries available. More bursaries will be awarded from the short-list as funds become available for sponsorship of developing country applicants to attend the Conference.
  • If your submission for a bursary award is successful, you will be notified and informed about the specific role you are expected to play in the Conference.
  • If your submission is short-listed but an award is not available to sponsor your attendance at the Conference, a summarized version of your submission may be posted to our website (subject to your permission) for reference by other IDEAS members. Should you decide to prepare a paper on the subject of your submission, the paper may be published in the Conference proceedings.

Those wishing to prepare papers:

  • If your reason for completing this submission is to write a paper on a topic related to the Conference themes, you are welcome to do so. Outstanding submissions that reflect the shifts in the thinking and practice of evaluation for the development advocated by the Conference may be incorporated in relevant sections, or published as part of the Conference proceedings.
  • Selection of papers and workshop offers for presentation does not automatically qualify your submission for a bursary award to attend the Conference.
